It took me a long time to write about the loss of our beloved Lotta. Already on October 2nd we had to let her
go.
It was probably the most difficult thing, I have ever had to do. But we couldn’t wait longer.
Already in fall 2023 I thought, she won’t be with us at Christmas. But she got her strength back and we had another year together with her.
Lotta “Desperado Charlotta At Belauer See” was bred by Inger Handegard in Norway. I clearly remember, when we picked her up. It was a long and beautiful ride to Gaupne in Norway. I had chosen a puppy from that Kennel as I wanted an English Springer from a breeder, who considers both, the looks and the working abilities of the breed. And I
had to wait until I got a puppy. When Lotta was born, Inger took her time to let me know, that I can really have her. Thank you, Inger, for your consideration on all I have been looking
for.
Lotta had at her time great success in the Show ring. She became even Bundessieger and went BOB. And that at a Show with 42 entered English Springer Spaniels. I don’t remember, when this has last
been seen at the Bundessieger Show in Dortmund. The number decline more and more.
With Lotta I didn’t only compete in the Show ring, I also did Dummy work with her and Rally Obedience. We certainly could have achieved more, but
that was not Lotta’s fault.
Lotta had four litters. Among her offspring are a number of dogs, who became National and International Champions. “Jolanthe vom Belauer See” and “Ludwig vom Belauer See” became even C.I.E. and
C.I.B. There were a number of offspring, who are very successful in dog sports and at Dummy contests. And a number of her puppies became good hunting dogs and were successful in hunting trials.
“Jolanthe vom Belauer See” became even a movie star. And last but not least many of them are loved and good family dogs.
Lotta was an English Springer Spaniel, who I call moderate in every way. She was a great mover. She could have had a little bit more muzzle and I would wished a bit more forechest. Personally ,I
think, she was the ideal English Springer with great health and temperament. Never really put a foot wrong! I think, it is sad, that so many breeders are going to the extreme nowadays. But that
is just my personal opinion.
I am so glad, that I had Lotta in my life. I can’t thank Inger enough, that she bred her and let me have her! Lotta continues to live in her offspring and the generations after her. She will always be our precious and loved Lotta.

I am very happy and also a bit proud. Our home bred "U R glamorous vom Belauer See" aka. Blanche won today under
honorable judge Ms. Ligita Zake in a strong competition Best of Breed at Stockholm Hundmässa.
Congratulations to Therese and Blanche! You did both a great job together.
There were 16 Field Spaniels shown, quite a substantial number for the breed. Blanche is still co-owned and will most likely return for a litter in 2026. Blanche can now add to her list of titels also the "Nordic Winner" title. Blanche is out of "Noble Alice vom Belauer See" after "Periwinkle's Slippery Jack".

Since a longer time I showed my English Springer boy Curtis "Visänga Out And About To BelauerSee" again. We were accompanied by Field Spaniel boy Michael.
This time I showed only Curtis. We went to Gelsenkirchenin Germany to the German Winner Show.
We were successful and won the Class. Curtis won two CACs and fulfilled the requirements for the title "German Champion (VDH)".
In the finals I could not get him out of pacing, so we got only Res.Cacib and with this second best male.

I have been almost a week on the road to join the
World Dog Show 2024 in Zagreb.
It has been quite a trip, but worthwhile taking the effort. Originally I wanted to travel with my friend Eva, but unfortunately that didn't work out in the end. So I went by myself.
Three Field Spaniels "Vom Belauer See" were shown in Zagreb.
We ended up with two new World Winners and did the double Best of Breed and Best of Opposite!!!
BOB "U R charming vom Belauer See", aka Bailey
BOS " Noble Alice vom Belauer See", aka Alice
Alice is the mother of Bailey. Another son of Alice was shown as well "Yummy Yummy Yummy vom Belauer See". He was shown in Open Class, got the CAC.
In the afternoon was the Croation Winner Show. The result was the same and Bailey and Alice got both the title Croation Winner and qualified for the Croatian Champion title. What a great success.
I had a wonderful drive both ways through Austria. On my way to Zagreb I planned a little bit more time. I spent the night in the Dachstein region and was able to visit the small town Filzmoos after 37 or 38 years again. To be honest I recognized only a small chapel. That was basically it. I couldn't make out the Hotel we stayed that many years ago. I thought, I figured out, which it was but not really sure.
It is a beautiful region and certainly worth another trip.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Walter's BOB at Crufts 2024!
"Nadavin Yaden At Irisbel"
(Prince Arthur vom Belauer At Nadavin x Nadavin Wenhaver)
I am very happy that this beautiful boy sired by our still co-owned Prince Arthur aka McGregor won this years Crufts under honorable judge Ann Harding!
Congratulations to Jill & Charles Holgate, Sarah Lewis and Dennis Adams!
Incredible is, that the litter sister "Nadvin Yirki At Tumblebar" won the Bitch Certificate. As it has been her third Certificate she was also crowned Show Champion.
Unfortunately I have not been able to make it too Crufts myself this year, which is a bit sad, now. I would have loved to watch the offspring of my boy winning!
