I still owe my readers and puppy buyers a story about the last remaining puppy of our "Tennesssee litter".

Just after Christmas I had the pleasure to bring "Vom Belauer See Tennessee Iris" to her new home in the United States.

Who knows me a while is aware, that I love to be in the States as I lived myself a while overthere. I always feel at home coming back.

This time my travels lead me first to Woodstock, NY. I flew from Frankfurt to JFK, the only suitable option this time to travel with a dog. Iris stayed longer than 6 months with us due to the changes the US government had implemented. Dogs entering the US need to be now at least 6 months of age plus all the rules for health and vaccination. This is not for the benefits of the breeders, who like to import a dog from abroad.

It also takes a lot of effort to raise and socialize a young puppy. But in the end it is so nice, when the new owner is very happy. This time I was able to make Lee Hildebrand (Kennel Wawayanda) happy about a new puppy.

Lee picked me up at the airport and drove to Tina Bromberg's house in Woodstock. It is a bit closer to New York than Lee's home.

We had a great evening together and lots of chats and fun. The dogs of Tina met Iris and Iris started to enjoy her new life abroad...

I hope, that Iris will contribute to the breed in the US. I think, she has the potential to do so. To be honest, if Lee wouldn't have taken her for whatever reason, Iris would have stayed. She had so nicely developed the last few months.

After the short stay in Woodstock and handing over Iris to her new happy owner I spent a few days in the Upper Hudson Valley about one hour North of the Big Apple. I had booked a nice Suite and did a bit of Shopping and browsing Antique Stores.

One evening I had the pleasure to meet with my Field Spaniel friends Sarah Stebbins (Kennel Northaven) and Lori Carver (Kennel Seabreeze) for dinner. I know Sally since a number of years and have visited her and her husband at their beautiful home in Connecticut many years ago. It was a pleasure to meet again and chat about Fields and life in the States and Denmark.

One day I drove to Manhattan as I wanted to see the big Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.

Well, those few days were over in a blink of an eye and I needed to return back home. After the flight and early arrival at Frankfurt airport I drove home to Denmark.

Looking forward to coming back again! Maybe delivering another puppy to his new home in the States one day...

I am in many Spaniel Clubs around the world a member. You can see them on the front page of this website.

This year I decided to run for the first time an ad in the Year Book of the Southern English Springer Spaniel Society of England. I think, this Year Book is also a good tool of communication, what is going on the scene.

My ad is designed by Deborah Stone, a Field Spaniel breeder friend from England. I think, she is really good with her designs. This is not the one I will publish in the Year Book. I wanted to get out another one before the publication of the Year Book.

Today I started a new page on this website about our "Life in Denmark on the island Als". Over the years this will grow.
