Once in a while I get the question what happened to our Field Spaniel puppies. Where will they move to?

"Noble Alice vom Belauer See" caught my heart since she was born. I think she is a very promising girl and she reminds me a lot of her mum.

As I found not a good place for a co-ownership we decided that she will stay with us. I hope she will continue to develop really well.

"Noble Louise vom Belauer See" will move down under. Her owner has visited her already in December and we had a really good time together. We are in contact since a long time as the interest in a Field puppy from our Vicky existed since a long time. Now we hope that everything will go well and Louise will contribute to the Field Spaniel breed in Australia in due time.

Exporting a dog to Australia is a long process. As we will keep her litter sister Alice we decided that Louise can continue to live with us until she will start her long journey to Australia. That will be better for her than being raised in another country. Now we hope that she will continue to develop nicely so that she will be able to move down under in due time.

Although the puppies are meanwhile 11 weeks old they are still living with us.

Reason is that one has to stay longer until she will go on her long trip. And the other one will continue to live with us.

I am still very pleased with their development. Last few weeks I have not posted anything but I have taken photos. Some you will see now in the gallery. Those photos were taken within the last two weeks (Copyright Ulf F. Baumann).

Today was time for the photo shooting of the puppies.

At the age of 6 1/2-7 weeks we always take photos in the stand and evaluate the litter.

As usual I will introduce the puppies to you in the order of their birth. As it is a small litter this time, quite an easy task.

The first born was "Noble Louise vom Belauer See". She was a bit smaller than her litter sister. Meanwhile there isn't a big difference anylonger. Louise was always the first one. Very often it is that way with the smaller puppies.

Louise seems to have no fears, is always up for some mischief and is very adventurous. But she always loves to cuddle.

This time it has been really difficult to take photos. Although I have practiced with them, they just didn't want to be put into the stand. Very stubborn!

"Noble Alice vom Belauer See", the second born puppy, seems to follow her mother. I think Louise is from type closer to her father.

Alice is compared to Louise a bit calmer. Like her sister she loves to be on the lap and to cuddle.

Unfortunately it is a very rainy fall. Therefore we need to take every opportunity to play with the little ones outside when it is not raining. Today was such a fun day!

Obviously they enjoyed the hunt after the duck!

Alice and Louise had today visitors from Hannah and her little friend. The four girls had lots of fun in the whelping box. Our princesses were quite exhausted afterwards and had a really good sleep!

Alice and Louise are growing and developing fast. Every day it is possible to recognize something new.

Since they are more active they get every day a new toy or a new object into their whelping box. Yesterday it was a piece of pottery - a rooster.

After I put the rooster in the whelping box they got soon very interested and tried to interact with him...

This weekend the puppies got an extension to their whelping box. They have now more space, which they started immediately to explore a little bit.

It will also help to keep the whelping box clean. To the breeders joy they started already to use the extention that way!

Today I would like to give you again some insights into the whelping box. I hope you will enjoy!

Last weekend our princesses had their first visitor. That seemed to be quite exciting to them. Especially on the arm they were really busy sniffing... a new scent, they have never smelled before.

Meanwhile the eyes are opening and the little ones start to notice each other. Their early stages of playing still look a bit helpless. A little better works to walk around the whelping box. Louise walked today across the whole box and she ended her short trip in one of the corners. She was a bit annoyed that she could not continue and it was a bit difficult for her to walk backwards. Well, what did she do? She started to bark against the walls of the corner...

Time for a brief update out of the whelping box. Overall Vicky is doing a pretty good Job, except that she constantly is rumpling the bedding...

She is nursing her puppies very well as you can also see on the video. As expected the development of the weights is good. Following a few photos and a video taken yesterday October, 5th (Copyright Ulf F. Baumann).

Both princesses are developing really well! They have both a high energetic level and it seems that they are constantly suckling. As they have Mum's milkbar to themselves it is no surprise that they are gaining weight really quick.

A little earlier than you are used we have made our mind up about the names. "Noble-litter" - the letter N is not easy at all, especially when you look for good old names used in Germany which would match my Kennel name. As there were not really nice names we thought we do this time a theme, the idea for our "Noble-litter" was born.

As it is already settled that one of the girls will move abroad to an English speaking country it is kind of natural to chose english names. Vicky (Victoria) and Albert - we thought we have a look at the names of the children of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert...

"Noble Louise vom Belauer See" came to this world with a surprise effect.

I thought that Vicky will start to give birth in the evening. Well, I was wrong and all of a sudden little Louise was there with a kind of "bang"! Louise had a birth weight of 346 gramm.

Louise is named after Queen Victorias and Prince Alberts daughter, born March 18th, 1848. Louise married 1871 John Campbell, the 9th Duke of Argyll. Louise had a very long life and died December 12th, 1939.

"Noble Alice vom Belauer See" was born second. She is a bit heavier than her sister. Her birth weight was 418 gramm.

In color she is also noticeably darker than her older sister. It seems she inherited the color of her mother.

She is named after Princess Alice, the 3rd child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

Alice was born April, 25th 1843. She married 1862 Großherzog Ludwig IV of Hessen. Hessen is a Province in Germany. I thought that this connection is very interesting as I have been born and raised in Hessen and the roots of my breeding and Kennel used to be in Hessen.

Today Vicky "Winterbourne Move On To Belauer See" (named after Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden) gave birth to two bitch puppies after "Elgert Rumour Has It", aka Albert (named after Prince Albert).

Both girls are liver without any white spot. They are both very active.

When they are a few days older individual photos will follow. Please continue to visit our Noble litter...

Our Field Spaniel "Winterbourne Move On To Belauer See", aka Vicky, has been mated on 26.07.2017 by the Sire "Elgert Rumour Has It", aka Albert.

If all works out well we are expecting puppies around 26.09.2017.

I have met Albert for the first time in October 2015 when I attended the Open Show of the Field Spaniel Society United Kingdom near Birmingham. At that time he was one year old and a well constructed young male. Now he is three years old and he has developed very well, although certainly still not at his peak.

His father "Kingsmist Eternal Night" has been BOB at Crufts for the first time in 2011 and a second time in 2014 as a Veteran 9 years old. Especially in the last few years he won at Shows many times. I have not only met him but also the mother of Albert "Reedmace Sweetbriar Floss for Elgert". Both dogs are very friendly, which they have obviously given to their son Albert. Albert is a friendly and very outgoing Field Spaniel, something which has to be treasured in this sometimes very reserved breed.

You will find more about the parents of this litter on their own Websites. They are linked to the dog's names. The expected litter has an Inbreeding Coefficient of 0,00 and an ALC of 100 %. Out of 62 ancestors within 5 Generations there are 62 disjunct ancestors in the Pedigree. Not a single dog is doubled! Certainly something which you hardly find in a breed like the Field Spaniel with such a small gene pool. It makes the litter for breeders even more interesting.

If you are interested in a puppy out of this litter, please contact me as soon as possible.
